AHHH! I can’t believe I forgot that Gwendoline Christie was in this!

AHHH! I can’t believe I forgot that Gwendoline Christie was in this!

Gale is smart, the way he used Peeta’s hijacking as a means to get Katniss to back off from judging his actions; cold but smart
Sorry Gale, I don’t think you stand a chance period (again, whenever Katniss kisses him, there’s an air of pity surrounding it; Gale’s right, it doesn’t count)
LOL, Coin clearly trying to hide her glee at Katniss’ eagerness to be sent into the Capitol; the way she holds her hand up to her mouth, like “be cool! be cool!”
and BOOM! Credits; that’s how wrapped up I was in this opening, I hadn’t even realized that we were missing the title/credits until they appeared on screen
Josh Hutcherson is fantastic in this; the inner turmoil and rage that’s just rolling off him from a simple look
I will admit that I think it makes more sense to send in Prim vs. the random character from District 12 that was mentioned in the books. This is one change I think the movies did better (in my opinion)
Katniss sounds the way I feel
It’s almost 6:30 in the morning where I am. It’s my vacation week, and I’m starting it off GREAT with a tremendous head cold. Woke up to feed my cat and I can’t get back to sleep…
So let’s watch the last film of the Hunger Games franchise and live blog it! WHOO! ;oP
…and that’s Mockingjay (part 1)!
Which, when compared to the previous two, really felt so much shorter. I’m sure that’s partially because it’s half of one book, and there’s only so much you can film.
Like Catching Fire, this was also directed by Francis Lawrence, and I can see the connections, despite that they’re both very different settings (meaning one taking place within the war arena games the other within an entire world at war. I’m assuming he also directed Mockingjay Pt. 2, which makes sense as I believe they filmed both at the same time.
All in all, this is a great movie, but for different reasons when compared to the previous ones.
Not gonna lie, I do feel that Mockingjay did a better job with it’s first part than Deathly Hollows, if I may be so bold to make such a comparison.
OK! One more left, which I’ll be watching tomorrow evening–almost done!
