Imagine if all of the tributes went for the cornucopia instead of a few of them running into the forest. Haymitch is right, it’s a giant bloodbath, but imagine if ALL of them fought to the death in that moment, and the whole thing ended within the first hour.
The sick thing is, the Capitol would see that as terrible because they want a “dramatic show”, not a simple fight to the death.
Ok, the thing that’s fucked up about Caesar’s show is how it both humanizes the tributes for the audience, while at the same time distancing them from the reality that these children whom they’re fanning over and “shipping” are literally fighting for their lives and that 23 of them will soon be dead
Ok, I take it back, having all of the tributes “promote themselves” on Caesar’s show is really fucked up

Another thing that annoys me is how the film, in a manner of speaking, denied the Avox character(s) their voice. These “little things” from the book were huge moments!
The entire idea of a “hunger games” is fucked up, but it’s even more fucked up how they have these kids parade before an arena
