This has become a bit of a tradition over the past few years for me–watching “The Hunger Games” movies around Thanksgiving. I’ve live-blogged some of the films before, and hope to do so starting tonight and concluding tomorrow evening.

Dr Sybil Crawley was a forensic anthropologist, but not just any forensic anthropologist. The best in the country. The best in Europe, in fact. She used her skills and her knowledge of bones to help solve murder cases. Tom Branson was a cog within the huge machine that is the Metropolitan Police. After his detective skills and Sybil’s scientific skills formed two vital parts of a few murder cases, they were placed together permanently as professional partners. When they began working together, they stayed in their respective fields. Sybil looked at bones in the lab and reported back to Tom, and Tom got warrants and questioned people and reported back to Sybil until they could be confident they knew what had happened to cause such human destruction. But, gradually, they started to infiltrate each other’s working lives. Sybil would help Tom with interrogations, and Tom would turn up at the lab and try to understand Sybil’s scientific methods. After years of working together, many crimes solved, and their ever building sexual tension, their dam finally broke and they found themselves falling into bed together, much to the happiness of their colleagues who had been wading through the thick tension between them for years. A few years on, looking back, they realised they should have got together sooner. Their crime fighting powers seemed to multiply tenfold once they became one. They would never be inseparable. They were together in life, as in death.
