Over the last two weeks I have been binge re-watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer (seasons 1 and 2 with season 3 nearly finished) and…wow, the memories this brings back.

This show (along with Angel) will always hold a special place in my heart, not just because it was my first fandom (and yes, I did dabble in writing/posting Buffy fanfic) but also because my life “grew” alongside the characters–I graduated from high school the same year Buffy did, I started college the same year she started at UC Sunnydale, and followed that show all the way until the end of Season 7, just when I was about to embark on the next “venture” of life after school.

I don’t know what possessed me to start rewatching the show, but I’m glad that have (though I’m not looking forward to the latter seasons as much; the high school years at the best, in my opinion). Anyway, that’s why I’ve been so quiet on tumblr these past few days/weeks–watching and reminiscing about earlier fandoms, and realizing that even though there were moments when I thought those shows took a nose dive into “garbage territory”, it is possible to look back on them with some fondness and remember what it is that I liked and even loved about them.

So I guess there’s still hope for Downton (though I doubt I’ll never see the seasons beyond 2 in that light) :oP
