Tall, Dark, and Immortal is a modern urban-fantasy vampire romance, where the hero (and vampire) is a detective and the heroine is a journalist/vampire hunter (dun! dun! dun!)
Blue Moon is part of a popular modern paranormal series that deals with werewolves; the hero (and possible werewolf) is a professor and Native American activist, and the heroine is a local police officer trying to get to the bottom of the mysterious murders taking place in the woods around the small town she lives and works
