Do you think it’s possibld you will ever finish your fics?

Hi Anon.

I’m going to be honest and say that I’m not 100% sure how to take the tone of this question.

In some ways it sounds like a perfectly innocent, curious question.

However, in other ways it sounds like a passive-aggressive snide comment (and due to the fact that it was asked anonymously rather than up front, “Hey! This is _____, I really like this particular fic and hope you update soon because I miss it”, etc.)

But to answer it plainly…yes.  Yes, I do think it is *possible* and I certainly hope so.  However, it has been difficult.

When I started writing, I was working part-time. This allowed me a good number of hours and even days when I could just concentrate on writing.  I had afternoons when I could type away at the public library or my local Starbucks and it was awesome!  However, I really needed to full-time work, and finally found that last August.  But as I quickly re-learned upon going back into full-time work, lo and behold, it takes a lot of your time (shocker!)  I enjoy my job, but it can be demanding in terms of time management.  Not gonna lie, when I get home, I just want to veg in front of my TV. And while I have tried to do some writing on the weekends when my time is a bit looser, because I’ve been out of practice for so long, it’s harder to sit and get something down.

All that being said, I’m not proud of the fact that I haven’t posted anything since January. I’m very disappointed in myself for realizing how long it’s been for several fics (years, even) upon which I updated. Trust me, the *will* is there, the *desire* is there, so YES, it is *possible* as you asked, for me to update and finish my fics.  I do believe all things are possible.

But possible does not equal “immediate” or even “soon”. It simply says “someday”, and I hope, hope, HOPE, that someday is sooner rather than later, that someday happens before the end of 2018, heck before the end of summer if I can!

At the very least, Anon, you can rest assured that I am aware of my stories, I am aware that they remain in limbo, in an unfinished state, that I haven’t forgotten them even though I haven’t updated them in quite some time.

I think at the end of the day, this post sums everything up for fanfic writers perfectly.  Thank you.

They’re not who you think they are…

This August try to figure out who is really who as we celebrate “Rock the Mistaken Identity AU!”

So many possibilities.  So many scenarios!  What if Tom and Sybil first met at a political rally? He rescues her after being hurt, but little does she (or her grateful family) know that he’s just a chauffeur?  OR what if Tom and Sybil met by chance at a party–he’s serving as footman but she mistakes his livery for tails? Oh, and it’s a masked party…and Tom steps in when Larry Grey won’t take “no” for an answer.  OR he’s a patient at the hospital, and quickly falls in love with his nurse.  Little does he know she’s the daughter of an aristocrat!  AND SO MUCH MORE!  Lots of ideas to play around with this trope!

So whatever setting you choose, whatever set-up entices you, have fun as Tom and Sybil navigate their hearts while trying to make sense of who is really who and ROCK THE MISTAKEN IDENTITY AU this month!

Why. Does Stephen king. Write sex scenes. Between children.

STOP IT. STOP DOING THAT STEPHEN.

I’m going to say it.

Stephen King is OVERRATED.

And he overwrites.

Seriously, he goes on and on and on describing unnecessary and repetitive details that have NOTHING to do with the overall plot, nor do they add anything to the story (and if it’s supposed to be “scary” it’s not, it’s just B-O-R-I-N-G).

Also, he spends waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much time writing detailed scenes of rape and abuse to women.
