Hi Anon.
I’m going to be honest and say that I’m not 100% sure how to take the tone of this question.
In some ways it sounds like a perfectly innocent, curious question.
However, in other ways it sounds like a passive-aggressive snide comment (and due to the fact that it was asked anonymously rather than up front, “Hey! This is _____, I really like this particular fic and hope you update soon because I miss it”, etc.)
But to answer it plainly…yes. Yes, I do think it is *possible* and I certainly hope so. However, it has been difficult.
When I started writing, I was working part-time. This allowed me a good number of hours and even days when I could just concentrate on writing. I had afternoons when I could type away at the public library or my local Starbucks and it was awesome! However, I really needed to full-time work, and finally found that last August. But as I quickly re-learned upon going back into full-time work, lo and behold, it takes a lot of your time (shocker!) I enjoy my job, but it can be demanding in terms of time management. Not gonna lie, when I get home, I just want to veg in front of my TV. And while I have tried to do some writing on the weekends when my time is a bit looser, because I’ve been out of practice for so long, it’s harder to sit and get something down.
All that being said, I’m not proud of the fact that I haven’t posted anything since January. I’m very disappointed in myself for realizing how long it’s been for several fics (years, even) upon which I updated. Trust me, the *will* is there, the *desire* is there, so YES, it is *possible* as you asked, for me to update and finish my fics. I do believe all things are possible.
But possible does not equal “immediate” or even “soon”. It simply says “someday”, and I hope, hope, HOPE, that someday is sooner rather than later, that someday happens before the end of 2018, heck before the end of summer if I can!
At the very least, Anon, you can rest assured that I am aware of my stories, I am aware that they remain in limbo, in an unfinished state, that I haven’t forgotten them even though I haven’t updated them in quite some time.
I think at the end of the day, this post sums everything up for fanfic writers perfectly. Thank you.
