apparentzebra:

There will be feasting and dancing in Jerusalem next year,
I am gonna make it through this year if it kills me.

M and AF

M) Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

You mean besides the obvious orange monster?

Paul Ryan disgusted me plenty of times; I never cared much for the guy, but there were moments this year when he sank even lower than Trump in my estimation.  I was also really disappointed with the news about Kevin Spacey too–an actor whose work I liked, but as a person I can no longer respect

AF) What kept you sane?

Taking a more active role in reaching out and contacting my senators and congressman–even if my pleas fell on deaf ears (not with my senators but certainly with my congressman) I felt I was doing something, which helped. Also, turning to friends (like you lovely people!) and turning to comedians like Seth Meyer and Colbert :oP

1, 7, 17, 24, 37 for the ask thing

1)
What did you do in 2017 that you’d never done before?

I baked a strawberry-rhubarb pie :oP (from scratch!)

7)
What dates from 2017 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

July 25, August 21, and October 21; July 25 was when I interviewed for my current job (and was also given the offer), August 21 was when I started my current job, and October 21 was when I officially moved in to my place :o)

17)
Compared to this time last year, are you: (a) happier or sadder? (b) thinner or fatter? (c ) richer or poorer?

a) happier–perhaps not with the state of the world, but happier personally, which is connected to c) “richer”, in the sense that I now have a full-time job and my own place again, and as for b) I have no doubt that I’m fatter, something I really need to work on in 2018 :oP

24)
What was the best book you read?

Three come to mind:

-”My American Duchessby Eloisa James

-”Thief of Shadows by Elizabeth Hoyt

The Lifeboat Clique by Kathy Parks

…and I would probably rate them in that order too :o)

37)
Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.

“…I’ve been grinding so long, trying this shit for years…I think I’ve finally found my hallelujah!” (”It’s Good to be Alive Right About Now” –Andy Grammer)
