Just left a scathing voicemail at my Congressman’s state office, calling him un-Christian and a hypocrite for saying he’s “pro-life”, as well as giving an earful to some staffer at his Washington office, who I think I shocked into silence for a few seconds after delivering my speech and then demanding that he take down my info to pass along to the jerkoff, so that I would receive word that he got my message.

I then called the DNC to learn more about candidates who will oppose his ass in 2018.

Not gonna lie, at least for the moment, I feel pretty good :o)

I ENCOURAGE YOU, if you haven’t already done so, to PLEASE call your representative and express your disappointment if he/she voted in favor of this atrocious bill.

Here’s a script I used if you need something to build upon (I borrowed this from another tumblr–I’m sorry, I don’t remember where it came from originally, but THANK YOU for it!)

My name is __________, I’m from __________.  I’m calling to register my anger and disappointment at Rep. ________ YES vote on the AHCA. My family, myself, and the people of my community are now at
risk of either losing health insurance, or seeing their costs skyrocket.  I am appalled that social programs that
personally affect middle and working class Americans, will be stripped in order to provide tax breaks to the
wealthy.

Rep.
_________ should be ashamed of themselves. This vote is not only un-Christian, but
for a person who stands by statements of being “pro-life”, it is the very opposite
of that stance.**

I and my community will
not forget this vote. Will you please take down my information and send me confirmation
that the Congressman is listening to constituents?  Thank you.

**I know that my representative claims to be “Christian” and “pro-life”, and therefore felt it important to throw back in his face.  But if you’re unsure of your own representative, feel free to remove it from the script.

ALSO…I feel it’s important to call and let those who
didn’t vote in favor of repealing Obamacare, that they have our
support.  Both of my state senators are Democrats and I did just call
their offices to let them know that I am hopeful they will continue
their promise to fight against this repeal.  So please, give them a call
as well!

DO NOT email your Congressperson…CALL THEM!

I know that’s intimidating for many people, myself included, but
seriously–CALL THEM.  Email can be easily removed and it will be; the
second some staffer sees anything negative, they’ll just disregard it
and trash the message.  9 times out of 10 your Congressperson won’t even
see it.

They want you to email them because they know they can ignore it.

But they can’t ignore a phone call.

Even
if they take the phone off the hook, they can’t do that forever.  They
can’t pretend the phone doesn’t ring, they can’t ignore all voice mails,
they can’t leave their mailbox full–they *have* to answer that phone.

And again, even if it’s a staffer who answers instead of
your Congressperson, TELL THEM WHY you’re upset and disappointed.  I
would urge you to *try* not to explode (although I understand how
difficult that is right now) but seriously–take some deep breaths and
then call them and whether it’s a person or a machine that answers, TELL
THEM your disappointed, and tell them that they are losing your vote.

THEN BACK UP THEIR OPPONENT AND MAKE SURE THEY GET THAT SEAT IN 2018!

…And if they don’t have an opponent?  Well, maybe YOU should think about taking that role.

Rep. Randy Hultgren (R) of Illinois voted to repeal Obamacare…and his family business just happens to be a funeral parlor

Congressman Hultgren whose district covers a good chunk of Chicago’s western suburbs voted in favor of repealing Obamacare and instilling “Trump Care” in it’s place according to the Daily Herald Newspaper, a plan that a majority of groups, from the American Cancer Society to AARP have decried.

Now as someone who happens to live in Hultgren’s district (unfortunately), I do happen to know for a FACT that his family run a rather prestigious funeral and cremation service business in Wheaton, IL

So even if he is voted out in 2018 (as he SHOULD be), he’ll at least have THAT to fall back on…and considering all the people who will lose their healthcare as a result to his decision, it’s not as if his business is going to be hurting

House OKs GOP health bill, a step toward Obamacare repeal

Ok everyone, it’s time for YOU to do your research and find out if your Congressperson voted in favor of Trump Care and MAKE THEM PAY in the 2018 midterm elections!

And don’t just wait till then, call their offices NOW, express your outrage NOW, organize and march and protest at their offices and basically make their lives a living hell NOW, because Lord knows they’ve done that to us until we can get Trump Care repealed

This is not acceptable and they need to be reminded THAT THEY WORK FOR US and it’s time to fire their asses

Tearful Jimmy Kimmel breaks down revealing newborn son’s heart surgery.

Kimmel used his personal story to blast President Donald Trump for trying to cut $6 billion in funding from the National Institutes of Health, and he applauded Congress for doing the opposite and increasing funding by $2 billion.

He said his experience shows why all Americans need access to health care, especially those ― like his son ― born with preexisting conditions.

“If your baby is going to die and it doesn’t have to it shouldn’t matter how much money you make,” he said. “I think that’s something that whether you’re a Republican or Democrat or something else, we all agree on that, right?”
