NaNoWriMo 2017, Day 2
November 2, 2017
I picked a story! WHOO! But gosh I’m out of practice. Went back and re-read the whole thing to re-familiarize myself with what all has been happening. So far I have just a little over 250 words down, which is pretty minuscule, however I’m remaining positive and choosing to see it as the “warm-up” to the writing workout which I really hope to be diving into, starting tomorrow. We shall see! FINGERS CROSSED!

a word of apology
I just want to offer up a word of apology for anyone (if there are still people out there who read anything I write) for my absence from fanfic for…far too long, as I know it’s been several months since I updated anything. I always like to give myself these “larger than life” goals during various seasons, like hoping to update something EVERY week this summer, and we see how badly that went (one update out of how many weeks??? Ugh).
If there are still people who enjoy reading my work, or who have been waiting FAR TOO patiently for me to update something, I am very, very sorry for how long it’s taken, and will not lie, it’s probably going to be sporadic at best for a while, if I am able to (and I certainly hope to be) update anything for the next few weeks as I get settled in my new job. But I do love writing, and I still ship the Bransons to pieces and still want to tell their story and so many others! So…please don’t give up on me. I know I haven’t given you much to go on, but please know that I am aware of my absence, I do regret it, and I want to fix it.

*whispers* I just want to spend the rest of tonight and tomorrow in bed reading and writing fanfic, but instead I have to get up at 3:30am to be at work at 5–boo

December 16–”candy cane”
What Happens Under the Mistletoe
Ok, candy canes don’t necessarily feature in the book…but like mistletoe, candy canes are synonymous with Christmas (just like holiday romance anthologies!)

October 13–”Beware…this was BAD”
Sisterhood Everlasting by Ann Brashares
I love the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books, and when I heard that there was going to be a 5th book, set ten years or so down the road, exploring the Sisterhood’s characters as adults, I was ecstatic! And then I read the book…
Please take my word for it; if you love this series but have yet to read this one, DON’T! You are NOT missing anything, seriously. If you do want to know why I feel so passionately about my dislike for this book (and wish to be spoiled) then feel free to read my review here. But seriously, there are some sequels and future seasons of things we love that are unnecessary, and this is one of them.
October 12—“Spiders”
“Has Tom talked at all about what he’s going to dress up as?”
Sybil
felt her cheeks warm at her mother-in-law’s question, and her hand
absently rose to rub a spot on her neck. “He bought a cape last Friday
when he took Suzy costume shopping,” Sybil explained.
Margaret’s eyes widened with surprise. “A cape?”
Sybil nodded, pulling her collar up a little higher. “MmmHmm, a vampire cape.”
“A
vampire?” Margaret pursed her lips at this bit of information, and then
shrugged her shoulders. “Well, it’s simple, I’ll give him that.”
“Mummy!”
Suzy called out. She was a few feet ahead of her mother and
grandmother, and was admiring a bolt of black silk fabric that had a
silver design of some kind decorated across it. “Look at this, Mummy,
isn’t it beautiful?”
