August 6–”Unique Cover”

So I got Vivienne Lorret’s Winning Miss Wakefield (which was published in 2014) back in June, and thought to myself “this looks awfully familiar” and then realized that the cover is a “near copy” of the cover for
Anne Mallory’s In Total Surrender (which was published in 2011)

I know it’s not uncommon for covers to be “reused” (or in this case, for one of the “discarded pictures” from the original shoot to be used for a different book) but it still makes me laugh when I look at these two side by side. Though they are both gorgeous covers in their own “unique” way ;oP
