Just under a thousand words today, but since I changed my goal to 25,000, I now only need to make sure I write 884 words a day, which is much easier than 1600. Anyway, more will come tomorrow :o)
Over 2000 words today! WHOO HOO! And the muse for a dormant story decided to pop up, so I’m taking this bull by the horns and running with it!
However, I have come to realize (and accept) on the eve of Day 20, that there is NO WAY I’m going to achieve the grand total of 50,000 words in the days that are left this month. So I’m changing my goal to 25,000. If I can reach that, then I am happy :o)
“Hey, love,”
Tom said, sitting on the side of the bed in his childhood bedroom in his
mother’s house. Sybil was tucked up beneath the duvet, feeling guilty that she
and Tom had come all this way for a holiday and she had come down with
something bad enough that she felt she couldn’t join his large family for
dinner. “Are you feeling any better?”
Sybil shook her head lightly. She reached out her hand and wrapped her
fingers in his.
“I’m so sorry Tom,” Sybil said.
“What for?” he said. “You can’t help being ill, can you?” He stroked
her hand to comfort her.
“I know,” she mumbled. “But we’ve come all this way, and your whole
family is here, and I’ve only met your mum and your brother.”
“There’ll be plenty of time to meet them in better circumstances, love,”
he said softly.
